the big slacker

not only did I watch two movies on the eve of my first paper (not to mention spending an hour grooming my nails - I have never spent so much time on my nails before I swear!) I figured it was about time I removed the badly scratched and chipped red nail polish I've been shamelessly sporting for ehhhhh about 2 weeks or so. hehe. hehehe. heh.

I've even fished out the archaic P.S. I love you
by Barbara Conklin to leaf through it again! (and no not the recent one with hunky Gerard Butler on the cover). I remember reading it during my early teens (hey I'm still a teenager! I've not even reach the big 2-1 okay!) and thinking how cool it would be if the initials of my future boyfriend's name could so stylishly be embedded in a phrase like P.S. I love you. (in the book P.S. stands for Paul Strobe ie. the bf and Palm Springs ie. the place she met her bf)

So:
P.S. - Paul Strobe
P.S. - also Palm Springs

herefore !, P.S. I love you = Paul Strobe/Palm Springs I love you.

haha.

easy peasy lemon squeezy.

her boyfriend died of cancer in the end so the phrase's double entendre is doubly meaningful. And poof, my childish longing for a boyfriend with cool initials vanished just as I read that he died.

So! This book must be older than me! and I did google it. BEHOLD, publish date dating back to 1981!

Anyway, here's some super duper buper outdated pictures from Monash Ball.

Farah Khan!

I've a paper tomorrow, and then I'd be able to relax for 2 days or so before I start preparing for my last paper which is a week from now! :D hehhe. yes I know. guilty as charged.

Where did my holiday go?

It's mid-semester break and I'm still inundated with assignments! I've got a 2500 word essay on global governance, and another 500 words on pure experimental writing :( (procrastination goes a long way cry cry) So while I'm in the midst of cramming, here's some pictures on Wei's room in Seremban. I WILL FINISH GLOBAL GOVERNANCE BY THURS! yes, I can!

before:

you could surely see remnants of the previous tenant on the wall?

green curtains, the horror!

hurhur. it went swiftly into the bin.

we gave the room a fresh coat of paint. the orange doors were also painted over with dark brown

Ian's cupboard!

about 40% done:

as we got to the window trimmings, we got lazy. haha.

the door's dark brown!

wootwoot! wei's room could be an Ikea showroom.

aaanddd.... right about now:

seeee ze potted plant at the corner of the table? Ikea too! :P

So there. I'm thinking more greens!:P

understated elegance

Oh boy. Look what I found in the many hours I spent doing nothing on ze laptop.

heeh, not that I'm getting married anytime soon but I love the minimalist gowns by Lara Helene. How come we only see stiff gawdy organza things in Malaysia?

techie rant

I've been wanting to post pictures of my recent trip to Broga but MY DESKTOP WENT KAPUT! DEAD! FINITO! :( The harddisk died on me sniff so now we're having to buy a new one and hopefully salvage as much stuff as we can. sigh.

Meanwhile.... check out my newest sublimest awesomest (no such word, I know) additions to my modest compilation of tech gadgets!

I'm feeling extremely jakun-ed as I even had to google the keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste. But nevertheless, I'm loving the excellent graphics and colors!:)

I'd also always wanted a smaller camera (which takes reasonably good pictures!) so I can carry it around easily as the S2 is quite inconvenient to lug around. And here it is! It was a gift! *skips!

I am extremely pleased with the pictures, even with the flash considering it's just a point-and-shoot. You'll see an influx of pictures from now since I'll be documenting all the mundane errands and activities hurhur!

And before I go I shall promote Parsealed again. Updated with pretty day dresses! :P

whee!

while I can dream

above title stolen from a girl's tattoo lol

Imagine being an old lady with a tattoo on your back: "While I can dream..." o.O

Wouldn't it make you look sad? Doesn't it raise the reply: Oh, your days are numbered. Poor thing.

--------

taken on the way to Manly Beach

andd I shall celebrate my 21st on a yacht!

:o)

I've been extreeeemely busy lately. Business is good (wouldnt mind if it was better haha)  We're having to restock, which is always a good sign :)  I'm taking up piano again, this time to complete my diploma after taking a break for 1 and a half years. (I can do it! Yes I can!) I've heard horror stories of having to perform to 4 examiners for your diploma? -_-"

But nevermind that! I've recovered from a bout of fever and flu, but only to have cough plague me after. Meanwhile, I'm also doing some freelance writing for a property developer and IT HAS BEEN MY SOURCE OF STRESS I TELL YOU! not that it's particularly hard or anything. just knowing there are expectations and my need and want to deliver. on top of that, I am taking Contemporary Fiction which requires us to read 1 postmodern novel a week! AND POSTMODERN NOVELS ARE NO COFFEE TABLE BOOKS! *grumbles*

so yeah. I now have this crazy idea to celebrate my 21st on a yacht.

now I just have to look for one...

basking in the exultation

just sharing the joy! and broadcasting one's humiliation :) I did not bother concealing his email or name. Twisted perverts should never be let off easily.

We got an email recently about an item we were selling on the sell trade KL community. Here's how it started.

Very well, since I saw the mail first, I posted a reply explaining the payment procedures as well as the delivery methods.

When yc checked the email a few hours later, she gave me a call. We tried giving him the benefit of the doubt. But there's nothing innocent about 'your lingerie' and 'paying a good price for them'!

And the need to flaunt his readiness to dispose RM50 per panty? hahaha oh gosh. He really is insecure.

we told a friend about the incident and he retorted a reply which inspired our lashback.

HAHA AND HE HAS NOT REPLIED SINCE!

Johor

we swapped luggages by the way. I could never pack a week's clothes into a sling sheesh. see the luggage Ian's holding? that's mine.

that's me trying to work the loose fitting straight cut haha

Danga Bay in the evening. the place's pretty dead during the day. renovation works are still ongoing. But there's a flea market at night! :) and places to drink and hang out.

these too are for rent only at night?

Malay sambal clams for supper. yum.

ice kacang with chocolate heh-heh.

Ian's 4th aunt's birthday ;) she cooked dinner for us the first 2 nights we were there.

Supper & dessert at George & Dragon!

their desserts (choc fudge and ice cream for me in particular) are to die for!

and so we went there for dessert (intending it for supper) for 3 consecutive nights. oh, my pockets T__T

on the day we went to the city we visited this quaint little cafe called Roost.

it has a vintage retro feel to the deco and I absolutely fell in love with the place!

They had rows and rows of polaroid pictures of customers pasted on the wall as you climb up the stairs. They had little knick-knacks here and there, some of their tables are pasted with rulers (as in the stationery ruler) of different lengths, some are decorated with mosaic tiles :) They had vinyl chairs as well!

their drinks are served in small plastic buckets haha

see the box of a TV beneath the old suitcases? their menu is written on the TV screen :)

According to Ian most of the stuff you find in the cafe are for sale.

there's a first aid box on the bike!

On the first floor, there's also a shop selling vintage clothes, vintage handbags, as well as accessories ranging from polaroid cameras to quirky spectacle frames!

LoL! Wei rocking the retro look

On the 2nd consecutive night we went back to George & Dragon, the waiter greeted me: 'Long time no see!'  :P

the interior

we met Ian's old friend,
Ee Wuen as well :)

On our second last day in Johor, Ian's dad brought us around. We took a half an hour drive to Pekan Nanas for bak kut teh, and later went to Tanjung Piai where we visited the National Park.

Sesame Street I only know cookie monster and elmo haha *shy

we walked alllll the way down to the jetty

and it was here that I started receiving messages welcoming me to Indonesia, as well as the roaming charges etc -__-"

and we made it to the southern most tip of Mainland Asia! heeh. a feat indeed XD

the host and I

our last stop: Kukup fishing village

go to facebook for the more complete album! ;)

special thanks to Ian and his family for putting up with us for almost a week!
